About the Maker

Hello, and welcome. I’m Sophia and I've always been drawn to the process of making and creativity. As a child I would spend hours making friendship bracelets, which then became knitting, and then became pottery. A decade ago I discovered metal smithing, and have been enamored with the process ever since. My life has been enriched by soaking in landscapes, noticing all of the details, and then trying to create pieces of jewelry that replicate those ecosystems. I am so excited to be sharing my art with you all! It's a journey, a process, a practice; to make art and come back to it even when it's challenging. But I believe strongly in the pursuit of creativity and bringing ideas to life, and I hope you all find joy in these creations as much as I do. I am located in Bellingham, WA.

About the Artwork

The items I make are made to be worn and used in your daily life. I intentionally create pieces that are both elegant and carry the elements of nature in them, while also feeling nice to wear and use. The idea that items should be both cute and functional is one of my core beliefs. All items are made by hand, and I take great care to make sure they are ready to last for years to come. This jewelry is as sustainable as possible; made from recycled metal, ethically sourced stones, and shipped without any plastic packaging. All earring wire is made from sterling silver for comfort.   • I am currently open to custom orders and am prioritizing wedding and heirloom pieces. To contact me about a custom piece, please contact me here.

  • Currently I only sell online. Occasionally I participate in pop-up markets here in Bellingham. To receive more detailed info about those, please sign up for the email list.

  • There are many ways I work to have an environmentally friendly and sustainable business. The biggest is that I don’t use any plastic packaging to ship orders. The mailers are from Ecoenclose and are 100% biodegradable, the boxes are from SPI and are also 100% biodegradable. I ship items in cloth bags that can be used for storing your items, or repurposed for storing other goodies such as a handful of trail mix, hair ties, a menstrual cup, or a mini backpacking med kit. I buy silver that has been repurposed from silver scraps, and in turn send my silver scraps in to be turned into the metal sheets I buy, thus reducing the mining of silver. I do my best to source American-mined turquoise, or else stones that have been cut and polished by other independent artists.

  • Yes! I believe in making pieces that will last a long time, however I understand that pieces can get damaged or lost if you’re wearing them all the time and in the outdoors. If you have something that you have bought from me that you would like replaced or repaired contact me about it and we can talk about if it’s going to be doable or not. I will give you a price quote for time and materials, and we can go from there.

  • I ship most items within 3 business days from the time the order is placed, and it usually takes 5-7 days before they will arrive at your home. Pre-order items will state in the description how long it will be until they are shipped. When in doubt, order early!

  • There are so many different things that go into the price of an item. When you purchase a piece of jewelry you are paying for :

    - the time and money it took to learn the trade

    - the materials (silver and gold are an ever fluctuating market)

    - the time to make the item

    - the packaging materials

    - the time spent communicating with you

    - paying transaction fees and taxes

    When all of that is considered, the prices of my jewelry are going to support a small woman-owned business, your local economy, and will help me provide for myself, not to mention you get a wonderful piece of art to wear for years to come.

  • This is a collaborative process, and my goal is to create jewelry that feels like you! We will discuss design ideas and I will work to get a sense of your lifestyle and jewelry desires to make sure the ring fits your life. I will give you a quote for price and estimated time, and check in with you along the way until it is in your hands.   • Buyers must contact me within 14 days of receiving item. Items must be returned in new condition, and received by me within 30 days of purchase.
